Octanium Duo
Saxophone and piano duo: a musical dialogue between tradition, creation, and contemporary performance
Octanium Duo is an artistic project born at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the result of a creative partnership between two musicians with strong international backgrounds:
Raúl Cicuéndez (Spain), an award-winning and versatile saxophonist with a classical foundation and a deep interest in contemporary music and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Benjamín Pedemonte (Chile), a pianist known for his expressive and nuanced playing, with experience in solo, chamber, and contemporary repertoire.
The duo offers an intimate and powerful musical experience, where saxophone and piano engage in dialogue through a repertoire that blends traditional roots, academic music, and contemporary creations. Each program aims to tell a unique story, connecting with the audience through color, emotion, and artistic proximity.
Our artistic approach:
Original works and arrangements by Ibero-American and European composers
Chamber music with folkloric or popular influence
Contemporary pieces adapted for saxophone and piano
Space for improvisation, free creation, and interdisciplinary collaboration
